The previous design featured dark colours, which meant the current assignment was to produce a light and sunny house but still create a cosy feeling focussing on the stunning views of the water.
The additional challenge involved the low ceiling and the pillar in the centre of the room that could not be removed. We made this room appear taller and more spacious using smart applications of paint colours, fabrics and an interplay of lines.
We installed a decorative column around the pillar in the seating corner with indirect light and the large rug under the seating corner near the column was fitted around it so it no longer represented an obstacle but was simply incorporated in the interior as a whole.
A kitchen island was added to provide more workspace for cooking in the existing kitchen, and was directly combined with a convivial bar element. The small chandelier above the bar look stunning combined with the antique chandelier above the dining table.
